The year is 2007. The world is blissfully unaware of the meme-filled deluge that is about to flood the still-young internet.
On a small video-sharing platform known as YouTube, a video is uploaded.
Only 5 seconds long, depicting a prairie dog looking dramatically over the shoulder at the camera. This was enough to set the internet on fire - people were in pieces, their sides decidedly split after seeing this rodent and its dramatic behavior.
It was hilarious. Or so I'm told.
Copies, parodies and edits followed, and thus it became one of the first, legendary memes.
Not so common now in the far flung future of 2026, but even so - like a prairie dog popping it's head up from a burrow to see what's happening, it still appears every now and then.
And that is indeed dramatic.
